Monsoon Peak (June – September): This is the prime time to visit. Heavy rainfall feeds the falls, making it thundering, voluminous, and surrounded by lush green landscapes — a dramatic and breathtaking sight. Post-Monsoon (October – November): Still vibrant and scenic. The waterfalls remain strong, skies clear up, and the misty environment begins to lift — perfect for photography and more comfortable sightseeing. Avoid Winter & Dry Season (December – February): Water flow diminishes significantly; the falls can shrink to a thin stream. While still flowing, they lack the grandeur seen in wetter months.

Visit between 10 AM and 2 PM for the best natural light. Use a wide-angle lens to capture the full plunge of the falls. Bring a tripod for steady shots, especially in cloudy or misty weather. Use the viewpoint railings for framing foreground shots. Monsoon and post-monsoon months (June–Nov) offer the most dramatic photos.

Safety: The parking area is relatively safe and managed by local authorities, though it’s always a good idea to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle.

The viewing platform is fenced and safe for general tourists, offering a stunning panoramic view. However, the path is not wheelchair-friendly due to the absence of ramps and handrails. There are basic stalls and toilets available. Trekking beyond the viewpoint is unsafe and not permitted, especially for those with mobility challenges.

Noh Ka Likai Falls is about 55 km from Shillong and can be reached via NH6 towards Cherrapunji. Taxis, shared cabs, and buses are available.

From Shillong, Noh Ka Likai Falls is approximately 55 km away and can be reached by road in about 1.5 hours via NH6. Travelers can choose to drive, take a shared taxi, or board a local bus to Cherrapunji (Sohra). From Cherrapunji town, the falls are just 7 km away and accessible by local transport or short walks. For added comfort and convenience, TourMeghalaya cabs are available for round trips from Shillong to Noh Ka Likai and nearby attractions. Hiring a local guide is also recommended for those planning to trek to the base of the waterfall.
